Why use Search Engine Optimisation?
Most people will will use a search engine to find your website. The individual generally wants to find the information quickly without wasting time looking at irrelevant websites. By optimising the site to suit a potential customer your improving the chances of that person visiting the website and becoming a customer.
When the potential customer enters a describing word into a search engine they are presented with results for hundreds of websites with differing degrees of relevance. Most potential customers will only look at the first page of results (ie 10 to 15 results), skim throught the descriptions and click on a website within a few seconds. If your website doesn’t rank highly in the results most people will not find your site.
